On Oct. 4, 2019, Golden Brother conducts its EHS temporary meeting and reviewed the following four major issues:

1. The zero-tolerance of fire accident policy and the concerns faced

2. Check up of all fire extinguishers of all dorms and their validity

3. Update the emergency contact list posted in the elevators

4. The review of EHS performance indexes in Q2 & Q3 of 2019

 

In the meeting, the chairman followed the instructions given by the President Golden Li and requested all members shall promote the “zero-tolerance of fire accident” policy at all their efforts.  If the foreign workers fail to comply with the preset policy, the coordinators should report back to the account manager and communicate the problems faced by GB to get the backend support form our clients which can facilitate the management and promoting of our policies.  Furthermore, the chairman asked all responsible members in each area to conduct audits for the number of fire extinguishers and their validity.  It is definitely not allowed the extinguishers are not in operational condition in case the fire accident does happen.  At the same time, for the fire accident occurred due to the misuse of Rice Pot, President Li demand this case should be the “only case” since the safety issue is not allowed to have any neglect no matter for what reasons.

 

For the urgent contact phone numbers posted inside the elevators, the chairman requested all members should keep the information in the list constantly updated with validity.  As for the 12 EHS performance indexes, it is necessary to review how the result is and keep steady pace, review the root cause, find sustainable methods to achieve the targets set for this year so as to minimize the possible pressure raised by the auditing firms.  

 

Last but not least, the chairman requested the secretary to get ready of the new list for the first 3 issues brought up earlier and ensure no leakage can be allowed.  All members shall face the concerns honestly and review the problems relentlessly, and keep up with the preset indexes to realize all of them in the future to come.

 

Member Chu located at Tainan brought up the issue related to the articles of electric power-auxiliary bicycles in "Road Traffic Management and penalty Act” has been taken effect since Oct. 1, 2019 and reminded all members should know the penalty clause and let the foreign worker be aware of the changes in order to avoid the possibility to be fined.  The chairman, at first hand, updated the website with needed information related to electric power-auxiliary bicycles penalities as follows:

After the meeting, President Golden Li further indicated the “Safety is unreplaceable”, the zero-tolerance of fire accident policy has to be in position after the made efforts such as proper communication with our client, the explanation to the foreign workers, and the introducing of safety concept to our staff.  To ramp up, President Golden Li requested all members should seriously imprint the “One case only” in their mind as the rule of thumb for all safely concerns.
