Award Winning of Miss Melinda M. Babaran

Miss Melinda M. Babaran referred by Golden Brother to her job post from Philippine earned the 2nd place of Taiwan Literature Award for Migrants after getting the encouragement from our staff to submit her article.  This award was hosted by Southeast Asia Educational, Scientific and Cultural Association and other sponsoring units.  Let us congratulate Melinda for the winning of Jury Award and outperformingall other competitors through the rigid mother language and Chinese transcripts reviewing mechanism.

Melinda started her work at Hsinchu in 2003 and later in Chungli in 2005 specialized in semiconductor manufacturing after getting her bachelor degree in computer science in Manila.  Her article "Latay sa Laman" ("The Traces of Flogging" in English) earned the 2nd place of Taiwan Literature Award for Migrants and the story told the relationship of a growing child with her father.  As she had a different gender preference which could not be accepted by her father, she decided to migrate to Taiwan singularly to free up herself and to get away from the harsh feelings in Philippine.  When she knew her father was heavily sick, she decided to take a short leave to see her father but the harsh feeling came around again and hindered her from going home.  By releasing her feeling in the "The Traces of Flogging", she finally made peace with her father mentally but left lots of dribs and drabs to be sorted out still...  The article was indeed quite touching and deserve for referral.
