The CDC said on 7th that in response to the locally confirmed cases of Omicron mutant in Taiwan and the increased risk of community infection, it vaccination team (ACIP) of the infectious disease prevention and control advisory committee of the Ministry of Health and Welfare decided that people aged 18 and over who have been vaccinated with two doses of COVID-19 at an interval of more than 12 weeks (84 days) should administer one additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine asap to enhance their immune protection.

 

The command center explained that an ACIP meeting was held on the 6th to discuss the COVID-19 vaccination policy.  After considering the risk of spreading in the community, the experts suggest people over the age of 18 should be vaccinated with an additional dose 12 weeks after the completion of the basic dose of COVID-19 so as to improve individual and group immunity.  The brand of vaccination for additional dose is suggested as follows:

1. Basic dose with mRNA vaccine (such as Moderna & BNT) or protein subunit vaccine (such as Medigen): the additive dose can be Moderna (half dose), BNT, Medigen, or AZ vaccine.

2. AZ as the basic does: the supplementary can be mRNA or Medigen

 

We would suggest staff of GB and all migrant workers take the 3rd dose asap on the premise of meeting the above conditions.
