Golden Brother International, Ltd. Holds March 2025 Labor-Management Meeting
Golden Brother International, Ltd. held its first labor-management meeting of 2025 on Friday, March 28. During the meeting, the company reported to labor representatives on various operational matters and the achievements of its Q1 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Performance Indicators.
The meeting began with a routine report on overall business operations. A special note was made regarding the main reason for employees taking parental leave across regions, primarily for child-rearing purposes. Chairman Mr. Wangen Lee highlighted that Deputy Minister of Labor, Mr. Chien-Hung Lee, recently stated in the Legislative Yuan that amendments to the Employment Insurance Act are currently under discussion. The proposal aims to extend the duration of parental leave subsidies by one additional month, from the current six months to seven months, to encourage childbirth among citizens.
Following this, the meeting covered the bonus distribution dates for Labor Day (May 1) and the Dragon Boat Festival, as well as preliminary plans for the annual company trip. This year’s travel program will adopt a dual system: group tours and individual registrations through a travel platform, allowing employees with different interests in location, timing, or travel styles to have more options. Specific details will be explained and publicly announced during the end-of-quarter meeting.
In terms of regulatory compliance, only the Employment Services Act has been amended recently, but the change has no substantial impact on the company’s operations, and therefore, no further explanation was provided. Employees who wish to understand recent regulatory updates in more detail are encouraged to refer to the “Announcements and Notices” section on the company’s website to ensure timely and accurate information and to avoid any misinterpretation or delay in communication. Additionally, regarding a workplace injury case, an investigation conducted on March 26 confirmed that the incident was caused by excessive sun exposure, which led to dizziness and a lapse in following proper safety procedures, ultimately resulting in a fall. Fortunately, the employee was not seriously injured and has returned to work after rest. Chairman Mr. Wan-Chin Lee emphasized that employee health and safety is the company’s top priority. All employees are urged to strictly adhere to the company’s “Zero Tolerance Policy,” extinguish cigarette butts properly, maintain a healthy work environment, and take precautions against fire hazards to ensure personal safety and family well-being.
Due to overlapping assignments, the current labor representative serving on the Occupational Safety and Health Committee has had difficulty consistently attending meetings due to long-term involvement in other projects. A temporary motion was proposed to ask labor representatives whether a new representative should be appointed to attend the labor-management meetings. After consultation by the chairman, it was unanimously decided to keep the current representative in their role as the labor member of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee.
In conclusion, the chairman once again emphasized that every employee is cared for while working at the company. Therefore, all representatives are welcome to provide suggestions on company operations or revisions to performance indicators at any time and bring them up for discussion during the labor-management meetings.
