This was the fourth quarterly meeting for migrant workers held by the Zhongli headquarters of Golden Brother International Co., Ltd. this year. The session took place at 8:30 a.m. on December 4. In addition, officers from the Foreign Affairs Section of the Zhongli Police Precinct were invited to provide an anti-fraud briefing to prevent migrant workers from experiencing financial losses or unintentionally breaking the law.
Key Points of the Awareness Session
1. Anti-Fraud Awareness
Given the increasing prevalence of fraud and the high number of migrant worker victims, Golden Brother International Co., Ltd. specially invited Section Chief Chien-Yi Hsieh, Officer Hung-Sheng Chang, and Officer Yu-Ching Jen from the Foreign Affairs Section of the Zhongli Police Precinct. They explained commonly seen fraud schemes, ways to identify suspicious messages, essential concepts for personal data protection, as well as proper procedures for reporting and responding when encountering potential fraud.
2. Traffic Safety Promotion
Regarding traffic safety, the briefing highlighted common risks encountered while walking, riding, or commuting. Correct preventive measures were emphasized to enhance workers’ safety awareness during daily commutes and reduce the likelihood of workplace accidents.
3. Sexual Harassment Prevention
To protect migrant workers from the fear of sexual harassment, the session also explained the definition of workplace sexual harassment, past cases, internal and external reporting channels, and key concepts on safeguarding one’s rights.
With the assistance of dormitory management colleagues in providing translation, migrant workers were able to clearly understand the key points of the session. Informational leaflets were also distributed afterward to remind everyone to stay vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious messages, dangerous situations, or concerns related to sexual harassment.
A
total of 224 migrant workers attended the quarterly meeting and anti-fraud session. Special thanks go to dormitory management colleagues Yang, Chang-Shan and Ho, Chih-Hao for their on-site translation support.
