Labor Management & EHS Meeting in July by Golden Brother

Golden Brother conducted the Labor Management and EHS Meeting on July 20th (Tue.) to go over the overall management issues related to labor or EHS in the past two months during the pandemic period.
 
Due to the epidemic concerns, the labor management and EHS meeting were held on July 20 through personal video conference in the morning and in the afternoon individually to minimize the possibility of crowding.  In the labor management meeting, subjects related to overall labor conditions, production and sales status, labor activity, welfare issues, working environment, legal checking, and other reporting items were discussed.  Among all, President Golden Li specifically requested all staff need to urge the migrant workers to get vaccinated so as to reduce the COVID spreading concerns with mutual efforts.  Furthermore, the paid martial leaves are now expanded from 5 days to 7 days and new flexible rules of staying without pay for the purpose of nursing baby.  In the end, the social responsibility performance indexes were also reviewed in the meeting.
 
As for the EHS meeting, due to all staff were focusing on the epidemic prevention related issues in the pas two months; therefore, the chairman Li of the EHS meeting requested oral reports from each territory.  In the end, Chairman Lee of EHS concluded with the following issues:
1. Garbage volume:
Since migrant workers were advised to stay in dormitory; hence, the volume of waste leveled up tremendous.  As the numbers of incinerators at each area are limited, the total garbage volume needs to reviewed carefully to find out the ways to deal with additional waste volume.
2. Food safety:
Due to the hot weather, The food should not be stored for a long time which may incur the risk of spoilage.  The EHS member should remind migrant workers to “eat in time” and “do not eat after putting too long” to ensure their health.  
3. Water consumption:
Even the reservoirs now have enough water storage; however, it is still necessary to keep water-saving concept in mind and “the hardship of lacking water when you have the water”.  Consequently, the existed measures to save water should be kept so as the already nourished habits of saving water can be maintained. 
4. Typhoon coming:
The severe tropical storm In-fa will have impact on Taiwan at the end of this week.  Each area should be well prepared in advance to face the extreme weather conditions such as drought and heavy rains.
5. Epidemic prevention:
The epidemic prevention measures required by the clients should be maintained as our offices and dormitories could not allow to have one COVID-19 case; nevertheless, the expenditure for epidemic prevention should be cautiously calculated at first hand.
6. Internal website:
The internal website shall be available end of August as scheduled.  A training session will be provided beforehand in order to facilitate the data input from each area.  
 
After the meeting, for epidemic concerns, President Golden Li emphasized again that it should be treated as personal obligation to get vaccinated; hence, all staff should continue remind migrant workers, under their personal willingness, to take vaccination so as to protect oneself, his/her relatives & friends, the company he/she works for and to secure overall health of people in Taiwan.
