Conversation Between Students of Chi-Ying Senior High School and Foreign Workers in Golden Brother

Currently, the total amount of foreign workers in Taiwan are now more than 700,000.  As they will stay in Taiwan for long period of time, it is unavoidable to have certain interactions with the local citizenship.  In order to let students have better understanding of the habits and living conditions of those workers, Chi-Ying Senior High School particularly arranged a conversation joined by in-school students and the foreign workers so as to break the stereotype of foreign workers in the mind of local citizens.

On Oct. 7 (Wed.), Yang, Shih-Jei, the Group Director of Academic Affairs Office in Chi-Ying Senior High School, invited certain foreign workers in Golden Brother to share their daily lives and why they came to Taiwan for work with in-school students.  After face to face conversation, students are now better understandings of the reasons why they came to Taiwan instead of working directly in their home countries.  As Director Yang requested the students to think in a more empathic, inclusive, and respectful attitude, the students indeed were moved after understanding the stories behind.

The conversation ended under the warm feelings and we hoped the younger generation can also understand more about the culture of foreign countries with inclusive and respectful attitude.
