Lunar New Year Paper Cutting and Spring Couplets Writing Activities

To help migrant workers experience the customs and traditions of Chinese festivals, Golden Brother International Co., Ltd. organized Spring Festival paper cutting and spring couplets writing activities across various locations. These events aimed to share the unique essence of the Lunar New Year with migrant workers who have traveled far to Taiwan.

The first event took place on Friday, January 17, at the Yongkang Siwei Dormitory in Tainan, targeting Innolux's migrant workers. It featured a "Calligraphy Class" led by Mr. Li Jia-Jun, the dormitory manager from our Kaohsiung Changchun Dormitory 1. After a brief introduction to the "Four Treasures of Study" (brush, ink, paper, and inkstone), the instructor demonstrated basic brushstrokes, starting from simple dots, horizontal and vertical lines, to slanted and sweeping strokes. Participants practiced with the Eight Principles of the character "Yong" (永) and later created one-character spring couplets, including "Fu" (福, Blessing), "Chun" (春, Spring), "Cai" (財, Wealth), and "Ping’an" (平安, Peace) as their final works. The instructor also presented custom spring couplets to the migrant workers and took group photos with Innolux's HR team and participants.

On Tuesday, January 21, the Zhonghua Dormitory 1 in Hsinchu hosted the "Welcoming Blessings for the New Year Calligraphy Event." Through this activity, Golden Brother International Co., Ltd. allowed migrant workers to experience the culture of a different nationality while fostering mutual understanding. Participants enthusiastically wrote their most auspicious and peaceful wishes, enjoying a unique and joyful experience. Many of them were so engaged in the calligraphy practice that they found it hard to stop, discovering fun they had never experienced before.

In addition, the long-anticipated "Golden Snake Brings Joy – New Year Paper Cutting Fun" activity was launched on Monday, January 20, at the Guishan Wenhua Dormitory. This event enabled migrant workers to experience the distinctive charm of Chinese culture by learning the art of paper cutting and understanding its auspicious significance during the Spring Festival. The same activity was subsequently held on January 21 at Luzhu Changxing Dormitory 1, Dayuan Sanmin Dormitory 1, and Xinxing Yangmei Dormitory 1. While some migrant workers were not familiar with paper-cutting techniques, their dedication and creativity allowed them to complete their works in unique styles, showcasing remarkable enthusiasm and engagement. The activities not only allowed the migrant workers to experience traditional Chinese New Year customs but also added to the joyful atmosphere of the festival.

Golden Brother International Co., Ltd. extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participating migrant workers and the colleagues from various branches who organized the events. We wish everyone peace, health, and success in the Year of the Snake (2025), and together, let us create an even brighter future.
